Kazuko Hoshino
Principal, Interior Design

Kazuko Hoshino has been the firm’s Principal for Interior Design since 1999. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in sculpture from Atomi College in Tokyo. In the U.S., she studied graphic design in Los Angeles and next earned her interior design certification from UCLA in 1996.

Kazuko leads an interdisciplinary team of designers and artisans in the selection, production, and installation of furnishings, art, materials, and decoratives for all types of interior projects. She believes a dialogue between space and décor begins early in the design process. Much of her work relies on custom designs to ensure that exact proportions and materials interact with the architecture to create a symbiotic finish. Her bespoke contributions range from sculpture to textile and furniture design.

Kazuko’s style is characterized by subtle palettes, sensuous and simple lines, and a refined elegance indicative of her home country, Japan. Her interiors merge minimalism with opulence, and indulgence with practicality. In always honing this balance, Kazuko consistently creates spaces that are tranquil, worldly, and inspiring.

Kazuko lives in Los Angeles with her husband William Hefner and their son.
